Santhal Rebellion (1855-56) - the story of kanhu and siddhu

This movement started in 1855-56 AD in protest against the exploitation of local landlords, Mahajans and employees of English company in Bhagalpur area of ​​Bihar. The movement was led by two brothers Kanhu and Sidhu.

 The people of the Santhal tribe lived in the hills of the rajmahal. These people used to burn grass in forest for cultivate farming and animal husbandry in the mountains for livelihood , but due to their limited resources in the mountains, they used to loot in nearby plains and go through the mountains. They used to live on the paths of life by putting a stalker. But when in 1770,
by the company rule, the lack of agricultural land was devastated by the mountains and the money collected by the landlord and the moneylenders continued to be used, in such cases, these people had to face very difficulties in livelihood. Eventually, they opened a rebel against the landlords and moneylenders, which later became violent against the British. The British pressed it ruthlessly.
